Lea Ubas - President

Lea Ubas is the President of the Family First Foundation and a City Commissioner for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, where she plays a key role in shaping initiatives that uplift underserved communities. With a strong background in STEAM education, she is a passionate advocate for gender diversity and greater representation of minorities in the technology sector.

Lea’s leadership extends beyond advocacy—she actively advances her expertise in cybersecurity and information assurance, applying her knowledge to raise awareness around digital privacy and online safety. As both a professional and a parent, she understands the challenges families face in the digital age and is dedicated to equipping parents and children alike with the tools to practice responsible digital citizenship.

Her belief in the transformative power of community and collaboration drives her work at Family First. Lea has forged impactful partnerships with organizations such as the Clippers, Dodgers, Rams, and UCLA, ensuring that the Foundation delivers meaningful opportunities that enrich the lives of children and families across Greater Los Angeles.

In addition to her role at Family First, Lea is a dedicated community leader. She serves as President of the Glendale Council PTA and has previously held leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of Family Engagement, Vice President of Programs and Education, Vice President of Communications, and President of her children’s school PTAs. Her steadfast commitment to student wellness, parent engagement, and family support is at the heart of her service.

Outside of her professional and civic commitments, Lea proudly supports her sons as a Scout mom and serves as Board of Review Committee Chair for the JPL troop in the Greater Los Angeles Council, continuing her lifelong dedication to youth development and mentorship.
