Lea Ubas is the President of the Family First Foundation and a City Commissioner for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), where she plays an influential role in shaping programs that uplift underserved communities. With extensive experience in STEAM education, Lea is a passionate advocate for gender diversity and increased representation of minorities in the tech industry.
Her work extends beyond advocacy—Lea actively advances her knowledge in emerging fields, including cybersecurity and information assurance. This hands-on engagement reflects her deep commitment to raising awareness about digital privacy and protecting the online presence of today’s youth. As a parent herself, she understands the real-world challenges families face in the digital age and is dedicated to educating both parents and children on responsible digital citizenship.
Lea believes in the transformative power of community and collaboration. She has forged impactful partnerships with leading organizations across Greater Los Angeles, including the Clippers, Dodgers, Rams, and UCLA. These alliances are instrumental in advancing the foundation’s mission and delivering programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
In addition to her role with the foundation, Lea is a dedicated community leader. She currently serves as President of the Glendale Council PTA and has held several leadership roles within the organization, including Executive Vice President of Family Engagement, VP of Programs and Education, VP of Communications, and President of her children’s school PTAs. Her steadfast advocacy for student wellness and family support is at the heart of everything she does.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Lea proudly supports her sons as a Scout mom and serves as the Board of Review Committee Chair for the JPL troop in the Greater Los Angeles Council.
