Alexzander Awni - STEM Ambassador

Alexzander Awni is a sophomore at Penn State University, majoring in Aerospace Engineering, and works as a Lab Technician for the university’s Engineering Department. Before joining Penn State, Alexzander was an active participant in the Family First Foundation’s youth programs, where he served as a liaison and mentor for younger students.

Alexzander has been part of Family First Foundation for more than eight years, starting as a student in its own programs before becoming a student liaison, the familiar, relatable voice younger students connect with at events. He has helped organize Foundation events himself, including one at the Rose Bowl. He has also become an ongoing touchstone for the Foundation, and informally for the Institute, regularly consulted on what's actually happening with the younger generation, keeping both grounded in the world their programs are built for.

In high school, Alexzander completed four years of quantum computing coursework, earning certificates along the way, a deliberate step to stand out in a competitive college admissions process. He also spent four years in Air Force JROTC at Crescenta Valley High School (Unit CA-882), rising from cadet to Cadet Major and serving as the unit's Physical Training Officer by his senior year. What first drew him to the program was simple: four years of unrestricted access to the unit's flight simulator, fueling an interest in aerospace that had started years earlier with science books, the same interest now carrying him through his Aerospace Engineering degree at Penn State.

As a STEM Ambassador for Family First, Alexzander channels his passion for science, technology, and community service into inspiring the next generation of innovators. He is also affiliated with the UCLA Space Institute, continuing his commitment to space exploration and cutting-edge research. Through his leadership and advocacy, Alexzander strives to expand access to STEM education and empower youth from all backgrounds to “Dare Mighty Things.”

A proud Eagle Scout and former student leader at Crescenta Valley High School, Alexzander founded the Space Explorers Club, competed with StellarXplorers, and served as the Physical Training Officer for CA-882 in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (AFJROTC). His dedication to leadership, service, and aerospace advancement defines his journey as both a student and a changemaker.

Alexzander is also a talented musician, performing on the violin, including a symphony performance at the Premier Performance Invitational, Carnegie Hall, New York City in March 2023. Beyond academics and extracurriculars, he demonstrates a strong commitment to community service, including his role as Community Outreach Director at Berkeley’s Connect-in-Place program.

Even as he advances in college, Alexzander Awni remains deeply committed to giving back, actively supporting youth and contributing to the Family First Foundation’s initiatives. His dedication, passion, and leadership make him a true role model for young people everywhere, and the Foundation is proud to have him as an enduring member of its community.
